# In-person or live online AI training?

In-person sessions bring a team together in one space. Live online sessions can connect distributed colleagues using their usual tools. Choose according to the exercises, participant independence and connection conditions, then adapt the facilitation to that format.

## In brief

- Focus: In-person or live online AI training?
- Approach: A defined task and a human review
- Next step: Scope the work before choosing a format

| Question | In person | Live online |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Location | Room, computers and connection | Each participant’s setup |
| Exercises | Shared work in one space | Written instructions and shared documents |
| Support | Direct observation possible | An organised question channel |
| Preparation | Test equipment and access | Test access, audio and sharing |

## When does in-person training fit?

It can suit a team working on a shared process. The facilitator can observe exercises and support discussion around a common document.

Prepare suitable computers, access and a space where demonstrations are easy to follow. Venue and travel arrangements must be agreed.

## How should you prepare for an online session?

Test accounts, permissions and tools beforehand. Participants need to switch between the call, source document and assistant. Written instructions reduce dependence on screen sharing alone.

Include practice and review time. Participants should know what to produce and how to ask for help.

## What about a hybrid group?

A hybrid session requires specific preparation. Remote participants must hear discussions and access the same documents. The room should not become the only centre of participation.

If those conditions cannot be met, two sessions or a fully online group may fit better. Decide during scoping.

## FAQ

### Is online training less advanced?

Level depends on the programme and starting knowledge. Format changes how practice is organised, not necessarily the objective.

### What equipment is needed?

A computer, approved tools and the required accounts. The proposal will specify prerequisites for the chosen programme.

### Can we use our offices?

That can be discussed during scoping. Address, equipment, access and any expenses must be confirmed.

### Are sessions recorded?

Recording is not assumed. Its purpose, conditions and permitted content must be agreed beforehand.
